PS: I have 64 bit if this information is necessary. Instead of launching I was immediately asked if the problem was solved. I also tried to run it with compatibility mode for Wndows 8 and as an admin. It may be the case that registry works different than for earlier Windows OSs, or that Spore doesn't run at all even if the registry is fine. My knowledge in working with registry is about 0.000001% (less than a bloody beginner) so I added all values that are told to be correct for the Steam version in all key paths I had found. As the game didn't run I searched for answers and found out that there is a problem in general considering registry data as the Steam version still tries to register as if it was the regular version, so the values are incorrect. Yesterday I bought Spore (basic version) via Steam. Sigh.I am not sure if my issue exactly meets the initial topic, but there are maybe correlations so I tell you my story. But I'm simply looking to get Spore working. Unfortunately we cannot support the game with this type of error because the game is no longer being updated for current versions of Windows. As a gamer myself I understand how frustrating this can be. I understand that you are not able to play Spore on your computer. I've just received a response from email support:
Is Spore still officially supported by EA? But entering it gave me "invalid key" and live chat was unable to solve the issue. I looked at Game Info of Spore using Origin, and my key was listed there. Later on, I've launched Spore from Origin and it asked me for my serial key. The support person then simply added Spore onto my Origin account.
We are going to use Android emulators like Bluestacks, Nox Player, or. They asked for my verification and I gave it to them, they verified that my Spore account was valid. Step by step guide on how to download and install Spore Factory on Windows PC / Laptop. I came across my old Spore account last week, and contacted EA about if it works on Origin.
